Baseball Game Preview: Eastmark Firebirds vs. Mingus Marauders

The Eastmark Firebirds will head out on the road to square off against the Mingus Marauders at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastmark will be strutting in after a victory while Mingus will be coming in after a loss.

Eastmark took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over Estrella Foothills. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Firebirds as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Mavrick Laboy, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jayson Paulo also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Eastmark always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Mingus didn't have quite enough to beat Bradshaw Mountain on Monday and fell 4-3. The Marauders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Juan Munoz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Carter Wacker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Mingus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Eastmark, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
