Soccer Game Preview: Bartlett vs. Service

Bartlett hasn't had much luck against Service recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Golden Bears will welcome the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Bartlett will be strutting in after a win while Service will be coming in after a defeat.

Bartlett is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Eagle River, who was ranked 17th at the time (Bartlett was ranked 18th). The Golden Bears won by a goal and slipped past Wolves 2-1.

Meanwhile, Service managed to keep up with Dimond until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cougars came up short against the Lynx, falling 3-0. Service fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Dimond since on Tuesday.

Bartlett's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Service, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1.

Bartlett couldn't quite get it done against Service when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Golden Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
