Basketball Preview: Desert View Jaguars vs. Santa Rita Eagles
After two games on the road, Desert View is heading back home. They and the Santa Rita Eagles will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-36, which was the final score in Desert View's tilt against the Bobcats on Tuesday. Desert View has not had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Santa Rita scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Catalina 86-60. That 26 point margin sets a new team best for Santa Rita this season.
Desert View dropped their record down to 1-22 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Santa Rita, their victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-15.
Desert View came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, sneaking past 81-78. Does Desert View have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
