            Baseball Preview: Legacy Lightning vs. Skyline Falcons        
        
		
        
        
            The Legacy Lightning will venture away from home to  challenge the Skyline Falcons  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Legacy has given up an average of 8.8  runs per game this season, but Saturday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Legacy managed to slip by Grandview the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Legacy lost  16-9 to Grandview on Tuesday. The Lightning's defeat continues a  trend for the  squad, making it three in a row.
  Jack Schoenheider was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 2-for-5.  Kellen Reiser was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Skyline had to endure  a  three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  11-10  win over Niwot  on Thursday.
 Matt Lanier made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. That's the fewest  hits  he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. That  triple was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  JD Wright was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Skyline: the team is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 0-4 otherwise.  Wyatt Rickman also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
 Skyline's record now sits at 3-4. As for Legacy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
