Basketball Recap: Highlands Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Highlands can now relate to. They were dealt an 84-50 defeat at the hands of the Southwest Dragons on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Owls have suffered since November 30, 2023.

It was another big night for Tremayne Martin, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds for Southwest. Martin also grabbed seven steals, which is notable because Southwest is 13-3 when he posts at least three steals, but 8-11 otherwise. Aj Franco was another key player, on his way to 20 points.

Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Southwest, their victory bumped their record up to 21-14.

Highlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwest, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-52 win against Leander on the 22nd.
