Soccer Game Preview: St. Anne-Pacelli vs. George Walton Academy

The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings will challenge the George Walton Academy Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

George Walton Academy will be up against a hot St. Anne-Pacelli squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Vikings' defense stepped up to hand Brookstone a 4-0 shutout last Friday. St. Anne-Pacelli's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five matches.

They hit Brookstone with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Eva Shaw, Wynn Ward, Mia Camp, and Isabella Ramos.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, George Walton Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 7-2 margin over the Trojans. Given George Walton Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Tattnall Square Academy are ranked 274th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Anne-Pacelli's victory bumped their record up to 10-5-1. As for George Walton Academy, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

St. Anne-Pacelli beat George Walton Academy 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
