Baseball Recap: Mounds Park Academy Gets the Win

Mounds Park Academy lost to Liberty Classical Academy back in May of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Liberty Classical Academy. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten Liberty Classical Academy on their field since April 18, 2022.

Mounds Park Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for Liberty Classical Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

Coming up, Mounds Park Academy will head out to face off against St. Paul Academy-Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Liberty Classical Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 loss against Kenyon-Wanamingo on the 10th.
