Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Leadership Tigers vs. Madison Trojans

The Trinity Leadership Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Madison Trojans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Leadership knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Madison likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Trinity Leadership challenged Life Oak Cliff on Tuesday. Trinity Leadership really took it to Life Oak Cliff for the full four quarters, racking up a 96-50 victory. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 37 point advantage.

Caron McGee was his usual excellent self, putting up 34 points. His evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Maiden, who posted 15 points.

Meanwhile, everything went Madison's way against Village Tech on Tuesday as Madison made off with an 83-59 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Trojans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 674th, while the Viper Squid are ranked 274th).

Trinity Leadership pushed their record up to 14-14 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 58 points. As for Madison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Trinity Leadership couldn't quite finish off Madison in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 54-51. Can Trinity Leadership avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
