Volleyball Recap: New Bern Starts Season with Win Against Dixon

New Bern had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Dixon Bulldogs 3-0. The Bears not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 28, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

New Bern not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Dixon between 17 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17, 25-20.

Leading New Bern to victory were Gabrielle Pidgeon and Allie Tuzo. Pidgeon had 11 digs and four aces, while Tuzo had nine digs and three aces.

Looking ahead, New Bern will host Ashley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dixon, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on White Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
