Basketball Recap: Herriman Starts Season with Win at Home

Herriman gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Orem Tigers as they made off with a 58-35 win. The Mustangs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 30, 2024 (when they won 76-29).

Herriman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylee Hansen led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Hansen a new career-high in steals (two). Another player making a difference was Grace Cannon, who posted 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Coming up, Herriman is headed away from home for the first time to take on Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Orem, they and East will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played.
