Basketball Recap: Alexander Takes a Loss

Alexander lost against Jackson back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Alexander Spartans came up short against the Jackson Ironman/Ironladies, falling 59-34. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 741st, while the Ironman/Ironladies are ranked 167th).

Alexander's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Jackson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexander will face off against Vinton County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vinton County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Alexander likes a good challenge. As for Jackson, they will take on Unioto at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Unioto will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Jackson surely won't give up without a fight.
