Basketball Recap: Gervais Comes Up Short

Gervais was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Regis Rams 88-50. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Rams are ranked 37th).

Gervais' loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Regis, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Gervais will challenge Chemawa Indian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Regis, they will take on Santiam at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Regis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Santiam likes a good challenge.
