Newark Memorial's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Mission San Jose with a sharp 6-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Their offense was hitting Mission San Jose from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Ibrahim Ahmed led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for James Logan after they claimed the first goal on Wednesday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Moreau Catholic by a score of 2-1.

Newark Memorial's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8-3. As for James Logan, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7-2.

Everything went Newark Memorial's way against James Logan in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Newark Memorial made off with a 6-2 win. In that contest, Newark Memorial amassed a halftime lead of 4-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
