Volleyball Game Preview: Daniel Lions vs. Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers

The Daniel Lions will face off against the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Daniel is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Pickens, who was ranked fourth at the time (Daniel was ranked 16th). The Lions fell 3-1 to the Blue Flame on Thursday. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

While Daniel ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 24-26, 25-17, 25-18.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Blue Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Travelers Rest on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Fighting Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0).

The win didn't come easy: Travelers Rest scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 25-23.

The victory snapped Blue Ridge's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 4-18-2 record. As for Daniel, their loss dropped their record down to 23-8.

Everything went Daniel's way against Blue Ridge in their previous meeting back in September, as Daniel made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
