Edgewood and Talawanda are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Brave at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Edgewood couldn't beat Oakwood on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Cougars took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lumberjacks. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Talawanda never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over Mt. Healthy. The result was nothing new for the Brave, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jericho Fletcher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Fletcher was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Adam Achterman and Spencer Lykins did most of the damage at the plate: Achterman went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Lykins went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave Achterman a new career-high. Connor Sayler was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Talawanda always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Talawanda has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
