Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Mitchell). They breezed past the Avery County Vikings to the tune of  63-14 on Friday. The Mountaineers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 31  points or more this season.
 Owen Riddle threw for 150 yards and three  TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.   Deshawn Orr was his top target, picking up 97 receiving yards and a pair of  touchdowns.  On the ground,  Hayden Webb rushed for 147 yards and a pair of  scores on only seven carries.
Mitchell has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 40.4 points over those games. As for Avery County, their defeat was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 1-9.
 Mitchell and Avery County are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Mountaineers will square off against Langtree Charter Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Mitchell will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Avery County, they will take on North Rowan at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
