Baseball Recap: Mt. Carmel Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Coronado typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Mt. Carmel proved too difficult a challenge. They never let the Islanders get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 on Friday.

Not much got past Jack Grassa, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Coronado off the board. Grassa has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carson Weber was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Nate Godbold, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mt. Carmel's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-12. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-10.

As of now, neither Mt. Carmel nor the Islanders have any future games scheduled.
