Game recap: Citrus High School Football Team takes down Lake Weir

Thanks to the stand out performance the senior now has 11 touchdowns on the season.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Darius Chapes in the first quarter, Citrus (Inverness, Fla.) led 36-9 at the half.

Cutler Blackburn made a difference for Lake Weir (Ocala, Fla.). The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns and kicked one field goal and one extra point.

The Hurricanes also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 14-6.



The defeat comes as a step back for Lake Weir, which notched a 37-34 victory over Lecanto in its previous outing.

Citrus (5-3) goes up against Vanguard in a 6A District 5 game matchup next week, while Lake Weir (2-6) locks horns with Leesburg in a non-conference game.
