Softball Recap: Connersville Spartans vs. Franklin County Wildcats
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Connersville). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Franklin County Wildcats on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Jade Green was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josey Selby, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carmen Ruble, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
