After a string of five wins, Douglas's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against the St. Clair County Fighting Saints, falling 10-4. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for St. Clair County, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

Douglas and St. Clair County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Douglas will take on Pinson Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 194 places (140 vs. 334). Meanwhile, St. Clair County (ranked 89th) will meet Clay-Chalkville (ranked 263rd) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
