Volleyball Game Preview: Gustine Reds vs. Stone Ridge Christian Knights

After both having extra time off, the Gustine Reds and the Stone Ridge Christian Knights will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Gustine has struggled recently with 16 defeats in a row, while Stone Ridge Christian will arrive with five straight victories.

Gustine came up short against Delhi last Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Gustine took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-20.

Waterford typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Stone Ridge Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats.

Stone Ridge Christian was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-15, 25-21.

Stone Ridge Christian's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Gustine, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Gustine might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Stone Ridge Christian when the teams last played on April 1st. Can the Reds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
