Basketball Recap: Jeffersontown Takes a Loss

Jeffersontown played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Whitefield Academy Wildcats, falling 72-13. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Whitefield Academy had a senior duo take command as Gwynnie Franz went 14-for-22 to rack up 34 points and eight steals and Noel Smith almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Franz has scored all season. Ariana Wynder also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Jeffersontown now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Whitefield Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-6.

Jeffersontown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-17 loss against Moore on the 14th. As for Whitefield Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 45-39 win against North Bullitt on the 14th.
