Basketball Recap: Greeneview Comes Up Short

Greeneview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 45-32 to the West Liberty-Salem Tigers. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

West Liberty-Salem's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Astorino, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madeline McGill, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards.

Greeneview's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for West Liberty-Salem, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Greeneview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-41 loss against Southeastern Local on the 22nd. As for West Liberty-Salem, they will head out to challenge Mechanicsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mechanicsburg will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something West Liberty-Salem surely won't give up without a fight.
