Lytle piles up the points against Cotulla

Recap: Lytle Pirates vs. Cotulla Cowboys

The Lytle Pirates can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They really took it to Cotulla for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-45 victory on the road. Given Lytle's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 639th, while Cotulla is ranked 1574th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lytle got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Guevara out in front who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Guevara has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zacharee Perez, who scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals.

Lytle used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Cotulla. And. Andrew Gonzales made the most of the opportunity, scoring seven points along with five rebounds. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Lytle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season. As for Cotulla, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-22.

Lytle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cotulla also has no future games currently scheduled.
