Baseball Recap: Newman Takes a Loss

Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Assumption Royals, falling 15-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on Tuesday.

Carson Rice made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Owen Reeves also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Newman's record now sits at 0-10. As for Assumption, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newman will head out to challenge Rib Lake at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Assumption, they will venture away from home to take on Athens at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
