Basketball Recap: Johnston Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Johnston can now relate to. They fell 51-38 to the Mt. Hope Huskies on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-38 on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Johnston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alanna Colon posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Bella Rivas, who had nine points.

Johnston has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Mt. Hope, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mt. Hope beat Johnston by a score of 51-38 later that day.
