Basketball Recap: Kloey Tensmeyer and Talyssa Nelson Secure Win for Green Canyon

With a playoff win on the line, Green Canyon rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Timpanogos Timberwolves as they made off with a 62-40 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Wolves have posted since December 17, 2024.

Green Canyon was led to victory by Talyssa Nelson and Kloey Tensmeyer. Nelson went 6-for-10 to rack up 18 points, while Tensmeyer went 6-for-15 on her way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. What's more, Nelson also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eliza Seedall, who posted four points and nine boards.

Green Canyon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Green Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Timpanogos, they dropped their record down to 9-14 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Green Canyon will venture away from home to square off against Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Snow Canyon will roll in looking for their 24th straight win, something Green Canyon surely won't give up without a fight. Timpanogos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
