Softball Recap: Dilley Comes Up Short

Dilley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Crystal City Javelinas, falling 9-3. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Javelinas earlier this season, when they won 16-6.

Leala Romeo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Mariana Urrea was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Dilley now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Crystal City, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 3-8 record.

Dilley has already played their next contest, a 14-10 loss against Hondo on the 8th. As for Crystal City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-4 victory against Natalia on the 8th.
