Basketball Recap: Weeki Wachee Starts Season with Win Against Citrus

Weeki Wachee took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 75-56 victory over the Citrus Hurricanes. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Logan White had a dynamite game, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 22 boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Donnie BeCude, who shot 47% from the field en route to 19 points and six rebounds.

Weeki Wachee was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Citrus only posted five.

Citrus lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayden Parent, who went 8-for-18 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Tyson Fern was another key player, putting up seven points along with nine rebounds and four steals.

Weeki Wachee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-67 win against Tarpon Springs on the 19th. As for Citrus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-32 loss against Hernando on the 19th.
