Recap: Tattnall Square Academy Trojans vs. Stratford Academy Eagles
After a string of four wins, the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 62-51 to Stratford Academy. Tattnall Square Academy has struggled against Stratford Academy recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Tattnall Square Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Antone Johnson. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Whit Davidson, who scored eight points.
Stratford Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Khalil Green out in front who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Green has scored at least a third of Stratford Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarvis Smith II, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Tattnall Square Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5. As for Stratford Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-8.
Tattnall Square Academy will square off against John Milledge Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. John Milledge Academy is coming into the game with four straight victories on the road, so Tattnall Square Academy is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Stratford Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
