Volleyball Recap: Athens' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past + How To Watch

Athens came into Saturday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Selinsgrove Seals 3-0 on Saturday. The Wildcats not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Athens took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-15, 25-5.

Ellie Mosher paced Athens' offense, picking up 12 kills. Mosher got some help from Meg Wiles and her 27 assists. Mosher was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-9-1. As for Selinsgrove, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Athens has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Towanda on the 30th. As for Selinsgrove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Hazleton Area on the 30th.
