Volleyball Recap: Hidden Valley Titans vs. Christiansburg Blue Demons

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hidden Valley had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Christiansburg Blue Demons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

While Hidden Valley won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-20.

Caleigh Ponn paced Hidden Valley's offense, picking up 21 kills. Ponn got some help from Calli Anderson and her 33 assists. Anderson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Hidden Valley pushed their record up to 28-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Christiansburg, their loss ended a 23-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 23-4.

Hidden Valley will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Grafton at 4:30 p.m. Grafton will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Hidden Valley surely won't give up without a fight. Christiansburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
