Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends St. Charles East's Winning Streak

St. Charles East fell victim to Lake Park and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 two weeks ago.

The loss snapped St. Charles East's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-13 record. As for Lake Park, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Charles East will welcome St. Charles North at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Fighting Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the North Stars have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Lake Park, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Buffalo Grove at 4:45 p.m. The Lancers are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Bison a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
