Softball Recap: Garrett Railroaders vs. Fremont Eagles
Garrett came out on top against Fremont on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fourth inning. The Railroaders were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Eagles. The Railroaders not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23rd (when they won 15-0).
Ashlee Vanderbosch made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Garrett got a massive performance out of Peyton Grindstaff, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Grindstaff has posted over her last 11 games. Atalie Gullett was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Garrett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fremont only posted an OBP of .286.

Garrett pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
