Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Reed Alexander and Jonathan Heckman Lead Heritage to Victory + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Loudoun Valley, Heritage was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Broad Run Spartans by a score of 27-19. That's more bragging rights for the Pride, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Heritage to victory were Jonathan Heckman and Reed Alexander. Heckman threw for 175 yards and three TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes, while Alexander rushed for 156 yards while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Alexander really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.

Despite the loss, Broad Run still got an impressive performance from Caleb Pavlus, who rushed for 145 yards and a pair of scores.

The victory got Heritage back to even at 2-2. As for Broad Run, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will square off against Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pride will be up against the Ram's rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Broad Run, they will face off against Loudoun County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Captains' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Spartans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
