Recap: West Port Wolf Pack vs. Belleview Rattlers
The West Port Wolf Pack won the last time they faced the Belleview Rattlers, and things went their way on Friday too. West Port simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Belleview 57-29 on the road. Given West Port's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Belleview is ranked 539th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Port's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hendel Rivera, who scored 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rivera has scored at least 25% of West Port's points. Another player making a difference was Demetrius Brown, who scored 11 points.
The win makes it two in a row for West Port and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Belleview, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
West Port will take on Santa Fe at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Santa Fe is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Belleview, they will head out on the road to face off against Umatilla at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Umatilla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
