Recap: Vasquez Mustangs vs. Santa Clarita Christian Cardinals
The Vasquez Mustangs posted their biggest win since November 30, 2023 on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 73-31 victory over Santa Clarita Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Vasquez also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Kristopher Horton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Horton is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Rowley, who scored 13 points.
Vasquez has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Santa Clarita Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vasquez will take on Lancaster Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Lancaster Baptist: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Vasquez has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Santa Clarita Christian, they will square off against Desert Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
