Softball Game Preview: Pritzker Jaguars vs. Mansueto Leopards

The Pritzker Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Mansueto Leopards at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mansueto took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pritzker, who comes in off a win.

Pritzker was handed a nine-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene last Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Rauner 11-10. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Leilani Santiago, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariana Roman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Pritzker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .595 that Rauner posted.

Meanwhile, Mansueto lost 14-8 to The Noble Academy on Tuesday. The Leopards have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mansueto's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pritzker, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Pritzker's way against Mansueto when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Pritzker made off with a 23-6 win. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Leopards have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
