Softball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Maple Mountain

Maple Mountain took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Spanish Fork, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Maple Mountain Golden Eagles never let the Spanish Fork Dons get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Thursday. The two-run effort marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Gracie Jensen, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Spanish Fork off the board. That's the most strikeouts Jensen has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kyla Donegan, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The win (which was Maple Mountain's eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.1 runs. As for Spanish Fork, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coming up, Maple Mountain will square off against Salem Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Salem Hills' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Spanish Fork, they will take on Timpview at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
