Decatur won against Burkburnett last Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Blaze Grider tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caden Hill, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Hayden Johnson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Decatur, bringing their record up to 12-13-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Burkburnett, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
