Recap: Nelson Island Islanders vs. Kwigillingok Eagles
Even though the Kwigillingok Eagles scored an imposing 64 points on Saturday, the Nelson Island Islanders still came out on top. Nelson Island took down Kwigillingok 82-64. The win was just business as usual for Nelson Island, who after four games remain undefeated this season.
Brennan Lincoln continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Zachary Angaiak was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Kwigillingok lost, one person who can't be blamed is Carson John. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points John has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of James Brink, who scored 11 points.
Nelson Island pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kwigillingok, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nelson Island will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Chief Paul Memorial at 8:30 p.m. on December 16th. Chief Paul Memorial is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Kwigillingok, they will head out on the road to face off against Lewis Angapak at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lewis Angapak is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
