Basketball Recap: Goochland Takes a Loss

Goochland played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 55-15 loss at the hands of Maggie Walker. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.

Maggie Walker found their leader in sophomore Jamie Martin, who posted 23 points and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Martin has scored at least a third of Maggie Walker's points. Another player making a difference was Rhaiyn Preston, who had nine points and five steals.

Goochland's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Maggie Walker, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Goochland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-13 defeat against Fluvanna County on the 13th. As for Maggie Walker, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-33 victory against Amelia County on the 12th.
