Like Shadyside, Monroe Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Karlie Haslam. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Shadyside's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Shadyside has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Monroe Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
