Basketball Game Preview: Washington Blue Lions vs. Westland Cougars

The Washington Blue Lions will take on the Westland Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Washington is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 56-45 victory over Dublin Scioto on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Lions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Westland had to endure a 33-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Cristo Rey 66-29. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 22 point advantage.

Westland's win came from a few key players Washington will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Marissa Rensch, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 23 boards. Another player making a difference was Ijiahana Colpetro, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 14 points and four steals.

Westland's win ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-14. As for Washington, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
