Basketball Game Preview: Horseheads Blue Raiders vs. Union-Endicott Tigers

The Horseheads Blue Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Union-Endicott Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horseheads has given up an average of 58.9 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Horseheads is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Seton Catholic Central just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They received a blow as they fell 63-46 to the Saints. While losing is never fun, the Blue Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Saints are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Union-Endicott took on Johnson City back in February. Union-Endicott managed a 72-68 win over Johnson City. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Union-Endicott's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Horseheads, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Horseheads lost to Union-Endicott on the road by a decisive 68-49 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Horseheads avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
