Softball Recap: Tillamook Victorious

Tillamook's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Newport Cubs, sneaking past 16-15. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cheesemakers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Callie Schwend was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Jaylin Krumweide was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

Tillamook hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Tillamook's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Newport, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Tillamook will square off against Banks at 4:00 p.m. on April 3. As for Newport, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Gladstone at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
