Baseball Recap: Indianapolis Lutheran Wins Going Away Against Pike

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Perry Meridian, Indianapolis Lutheran was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Pike Red Devils. Considering the Saints have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Hudson Mills made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Indianapolis Lutheran: the team is 6-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 8-9 otherwise. Mills was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Ryan Redding was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Owen Lecher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

Indianapolis Lutheran's record now sits at 14-10. As for Pike, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Indianapolis Lutheran didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-0 victory against Speedway on the 27th. As for Pike, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Park Tudor on the 27th.
