For the first time this season, Heritage will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Adams Starfires at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Heritage has five straight wins, South Adams has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Heritage had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Lakewood Park Christian on Thursday. The Patriots never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. With that win, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.
Iestyn Roe made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Roe was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Rauner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landri Linder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Heritage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakewood Park Christian only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, South Adams didn't have quite enough to beat Union City on Monday and fell 11-9. That's two games in a row now that the Starfires have lost by exactly two runs.
Sty Pyle led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI were his first of the season. Zaden Baumer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for South Adams, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
South Adams' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Heritage hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. It's a different story for South Adams, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Heritage's hitters?
Heritage took their win against South Adams in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Starfires have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
