Baseball Recap: Riverton Beats Herriman for Their Fourth Straight Win

Riverton barely beat Herriman the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Silverwolves never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Wednesday. Considering the Silverwolves have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

McKay Linford looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nolan Pezely, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gaige Woods, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Riverton, bringing their record up to 12-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.75 runs across that stretch. As for Herriman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Riverton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Herriman: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
