Soccer Game Preview: Grants Pass vs. Willamette

The Grants Pass Cavemen will face off against the Willamette Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Grants Pass' defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Willamette's offense will have their work cut out for them.

While Grants Pass' victory against Roseburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cavemen skirted past the Indians 2-1. Grants Pass haven't had any issues with Roseburg recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Willamette). Their defense stepped up to hand North Medford a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Willamette now has a winning record of 3-2-2. As for Grants Pass, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-1-4.

Grants Pass beat Willamette 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Do the Cavemen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
